About the position

The Product Surveillance Analyst role involves evaluating returned medical devices associated with reported complaints. The analyst will utilize procedures and judgment to determine appropriate testing, conduct root cause evaluations, review Device History Records, and prepare technical reports. This position is an entry point into the medical device regulatory and quality field, requiring effective communication and collaboration with various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform evaluations on returned devices associated with reported complaints.
  • Determine appropriate testing of returned products using procedures and judgment.
  • Conduct well-documented and accurate root cause evaluations.
  • Review Device History Records for relevant information.
  • Coordinate product testing and analysis with internal departments and external consultants.
  • Prepare technical reports of evaluations and findings.
  • Manage complaints from customers and submit evaluations on findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field (biology, biochemistry, physiology, neurobiology, neuroscience, etc.).
  • 0-2 years of experience within a lab or medical space.
  • Technical writing experience.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, verified by references.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with root cause analysis/failure analysis.
  • 3+ months lab experience and/or anatomy/physiology experience (not premed).
  • Lab experience, TA experience, or research experience from college.
