About the position

The Product Test Senior Engineer at Honda is responsible for executing development projects to create functioning prototypes for ATV/SxS vehicles. This role involves researching and applying new technologies to meet business targets while ensuring global vehicle product quality. The engineer will work with limited supervision to develop complex layouts, validate specifications, manage schedules, and contribute to the evolution of new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop complex component and system layouts for ATV/SxS prototype vehicles that meet concept targets and manufacturing requisites.
  • Communicate specification requirements and manufacturing control points via prototype and production drawings.
  • Set performance targets to satisfy vehicle concept and competitiveness, and perform validations through engineering principles and testing.
  • Create and maintain accurate technical, development, and administrative documentation as required.
  • Manage individual work schedules to ensure deadlines are met and communicate resource needs with supervisors.
  • Generate ideas for new technologies and prepare them for development applications.
  • Support market quality themes and utilize problem-solving methods to investigate root causes.

Requirements

  • 5 years previous engineering experience, preferably in the Power Sports Industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Competent data acquisition and laboratory skills/techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, judgment, decision-making, and prioritization skills.
  • Understanding of development project cycles and milestones.
  • Competent in FTA and FMEA methodologies.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to create plans and schedules effectively.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Background in anthropometrics (human body ergonomics) is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous powersports experience (M/C, ATV, SXS) is desired.
