About the position

The Product Training Specialist at Ditch Witch is a pivotal role designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of employees and customers regarding Ditch Witch and Subsite products. This position is integral to the growth and success of the Ditch Sales Division, focusing on the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of comprehensive training solutions. The specialist will be responsible for creating training materials, conducting seminars, and presenting information to various groups, including factory personnel, dealership staff, and end-users. The role requires a blend of technical knowledge, instructional skills, and the ability to foster positive relationships with customers and colleagues alike. In this role, the Product Training Specialist will research and develop appropriate training curricula, materials, and resources tailored to the needs of the audience. They will also measure the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to improve learning outcomes. The specialist will demonstrate Ditch Witch equipment, ensuring that participants understand the features and benefits of the products. This includes selecting suitable demonstration sites, setting up equipment, and operating it in real-world conditions. The position requires strong organizational skills, leadership qualities, and a commitment to safety. The Product Training Specialist will conduct multiple training seminars, sharing their expertise and knowledge with others while teaching about Ditch Witch products and systems. The job title will be determined based on the candidate's academic background and relevant experience, with three levels available: I, II, and III, depending on the years of experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deliver, and evaluate learning solutions for the Ditch Sales Division.
  • Research and develop appropriate training curriculum, materials, handouts, and other resources.
  • Obtain required learning resources and make presentations before groups of Ditch Witch factory, dealership, and customer groups.
  • Measure the effectiveness of training material and develop IT-integrated training solutions.
  • Present and coordinate delivery of training to Ditch Witch factory and dealership personnel.
  • Demonstrate Ditch Witch equipment, including choosing suitable demonstration sites and explaining features and benefits.
  • Build and maintain positive, productive business relationships with customers, including Ditch Witch factory divisions and dealership personnel.
  • Conduct multiple training seminars and provide expertise while teaching Ditch Witch products and systems.

Requirements

  • 1+ year(s) of experience in the training field or equivalent required; Ditch Witch and/or Subsite Electronics preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, engineering, education, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience with the Ditch Witch dealership network and high competency with Ditch Witch/Subsite products.
  • High-level instructor-led traits and skills, including customer service, empathy, and people skills.
  • Experience developing multiple levels of learning material and incorporating this into various mediums for delivery.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to make effective group presentations.
  • Ability to operate and effectively demonstrate heavy construction equipment in field conditions.
  • Strong correspondence, record keeping, and computer/information technology skills.
  • Ability to attain and maintain a passport, a current vehicle operator's license, and prepare to acquire and maintain a CDL.
  • Flexible schedule with availability for overtime as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with heavy construction equipment operation.
