About the position

Accord Innovations is seeking a highly skilled Product Validation Technical Project Manager to oversee the system-level validation of cutting-edge wearable products. This role is critical in ensuring that our new product introductions (NPI) adhere to established development schedules and meet the high standards expected in the consumer electronics industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and driving the validation efforts, reporting progress to stakeholders through agreed forums and tools, and ensuring that key deadlines and priority goals are met. In this position, you will lead teams, delegate tasks, and monitor work progress while providing regular status updates to customers. You will be tasked with driving key performance indicators (KPIs) that quantify the system performance of NPI prototype hardware, ensuring comprehensive product validation. Developing program schedules that account for complex dependencies and identifying critical path items will be essential to your success. Continuous improvement will be a focus, as you work with various functional domains to enhance processes related to status reporting, data tracking, and issue management. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is vital, as you will define test plans, procedures, and drive test execution and data collection. Your ability to escalate issues, risks, and blockers effectively will be crucial, as will your proficiency in utilizing project management tools to manage deliverables, including action tracking, Gantt charts, and critical path visuals. You will also work closely with team leads to prioritize project deliverables and estimate resource needs based on the validation scope. The role requires converting large data sets into clear summaries for stakeholders at all levels, ensuring transparency and clarity in communication.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and drive system level validation of hi-tech wearable products following normal New Product Introduction (NPI) development schedules.
  • Program manages product validation efforts and report status to the using agreed forums and tools.
  • Drive and execute validation to meet key deadlines and priority goals.
  • Lead teams, delegate work, monitor work progress, and provide status reporting to customers.
  • Drive key performance indicators (KPIs) for quantifying system performance of NPI prototype hardware for comprehensive product validation.
  • Develop program schedules based on complex dependencies and identify critical path items.
  • Drive continuous improvement with the functional domains and improve processes for status, data, and issue reporting.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define test plans, test procedures, drive test execution, and data collection.
  • Utilize various project management tools to manage deliverables, including action tracking and Gantt charts.
  • Work with team leads to prioritize project deliverables and estimate resource needs based on validation scope.
  • Convert large data sets into clear summaries for stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years' work experience in the consumer electronics industry and end-to-end hardware development processes.
  • Excellent technical program management skills, proficient in developing complex schedules and estimating resource needs.
  • Experience in EE testing (SoC, Memory, high speed interfaces), Firmware/Embedded Software, Audio, Connectivity (WiFi/BT), cameras, displays, sensors, and electro-mechanical fixtures.
  • Experience in developing test strategies, including creating test plans, designing test cases, and developing custom tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in debugging and analysis using metrology, system logs, software traces, and customer field feedback.
  • Experience working with embedded systems and software, using SoCs, MCUs, and memory.
  • Experience with Python or Matlab and capable of doing shell/batch scripting as required, as well as C and Java.
  • Knowledge of test automation frameworks and experience in Android and iOS apps automation with Appium.
  • Capable of working on both MAC and Windows operating systems.
