About the position

The Production Specialist role at Conagra Brands involves operating production and processing equipment to package food products. The position requires adherence to safety and quality standards while performing a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment. The specialist will be responsible for monitoring production processes, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a clean work area.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production and processing equipment to package products.
  • Become proficient in a variety of production jobs within the facility.
  • Develop knowledge of production schedules and follow instructions.
  • Manually or automatically assemble cases to meet production specifications.
  • Monitor filled bags or trays for weight, seals, label placement, and accuracy.
  • Select acceptable bags/units for hand casing accurately.
  • Report deviations from product requirements to operators or supervisors.
  • Visually inspect products and ingredients for flaws or defects.
  • Stop production to report serious deviations in quality or equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain work area by completing housekeeping and janitorial duties.
  • Assist operators with start-up, production, changeover, and shutdown of production.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate in English (writing and speaking).
  • Must be able to complete basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 30lbs regularly.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and bend constantly throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to work 8, 10, or 12 hours in a shift, either day or night.
  • Must be able to work in an environment averaging 40 - 44 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Must learn and follow safe working practices (Safety Absolutes).
  • Must learn and follow manufacturing control points and practices (Standard Work).
  • Must learn and follow quality control points and practices (GMP's/HACCP/FSMA).
  • Must work well with others as a production team.
  • Must have reliable/consistent attendance and attention to duties.
  • Must work accurately with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • High School Diploma or GED/equivalent is preferred.
