About the position

The Production Agent role at FNIC involves designing and implementing risk management programs for clients in the insurance industry, focusing on personal lines, commercial select, and individual Life & Health clients. This position requires a blend of inside sales and customer service, with a significant emphasis on retaining and servicing a dedicated book of business while ensuring clients receive exceptional service and comprehensive coverage. The role offers flexibility, including work-from-home options, and emphasizes professional growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit and cultivate qualified prospects, schedule appointments, complete applications, and make sales presentations for clients under $3,000 in agency revenue.
  • Pass on warm client leads outside of production agent's experience/expertise level to Sales Executive or Sales Leader and cultivate relationships throughout the sales pipeline process.
  • Design and implement risk management programs for clients, utilizing all FNIC resources.
  • Coordinate resolution of claim coverage issues, appraisals, and audits, keeping clients informed.
  • Arrange payment terms for all accounts in accordance with agency credit and collections policy.
  • Review and analyze client-related contracts and make recommendations for modifications to ensure contract compliance.
  • Work to eliminate gaps in coverage to reduce E&O exposure.
  • Participate in professional and community organizations to promote the agency and insurance industry.
  • Manage customer service accountabilities on a dedicated book of business while meeting service standards.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions for new business and renewals, review quotes, prepare proposals, and bind coverage.
  • Complete servicing of accounts, including preparing proposals, issuing certificates, and processing endorsements.
  • Promptly invoice all premium-bearing transactions and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Maintain electronic account files and incorporate agency management system capabilities into daily workflow.
  • Prioritize workload to meet objectives and request assistance from management when necessary.
  • Perform quality reviews as requested by management and comply with quality program requirements.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with insurance company representatives and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Resident Property and Casualty Agent's license and/or Life & Health Agent's license, or ability to obtain.
  • 5 or more years of professional experience.
  • 3 years of personal insurance experience preferred; farm insurance experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel) and all agency automation software.
  • Proficient in department workflows and procedures.
  • Ability to teach and mentor others in the account servicing area.
  • Strong respect for confidentiality.
  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • Ability to conform with and abide by all workplace policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with company employees and external contacts.
