About the position

The Production Art Director at CHAMPRO is responsible for overseeing the art department that produces designs for custom sublimation apparel, screen printing, and athletic caps. This role involves managing both domestic and overseas art teams, ensuring high-quality production standards, and fostering a collaborative work environment. The director will report to the Vice President of Manufacturing and will focus on continuous improvement in art development processes while aligning team priorities with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages all production art processes for domestic and overseas art departments.
• Establishes art department standards for production, productivity, quality, and client services.
• Manages contract art services including seasonal production scheduling and labor staffing.
• Ensures adherence to current processes and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Monitors staffing needs and supervises workloads to meet order requirements.
• Provides clear direction and feedback to improve team performance and quality of work.
• Fields questions from production and customer service regarding order specifications.
• Fosters a work environment that elevates performance and morale.
• Collaborates with marketing and sales to align team priorities with business objectives.
• Identifies and implements continual work process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in fine art, graphic design, or similar discipline.
• 8+ years as a professional graphic designer with 4+ years in a management role.
• Proficiency with design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
• Exceptional capability with typography, layout, and prototyping.
• Highly skilled in leading a team of creative talent.
• Knowledge in manufacturing processes.
• Strong creative vision with an understanding of business objectives and analytics.
• Proven leadership and decision-making ability.
• Strong skills in work planning and scheduling.
