About the position

The Production Artist/Graphic Designer at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) plays a vital role in generating communication solutions that reflect the university's key positions. This position involves collaborating with the associate and senior art directors, as well as a diverse team of designers and project managers, to create effective layouts and designs. The role requires adherence to design and brand standards while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the associate and senior art directors to create communication solutions.
• Design comprehensive layouts and manipulate graphic elements and type.
• Prepare files for production and assist in creating concepts for presentations.
• Maintain consistency in visual communication across multiple projects.
• Create, format, and maintain campaign branding sheets and files.
• Apply existing creative branding to new jobs and uphold SCAD standards for file management.
• Stay updated on new trends in design and print production.
• Implement rush job designs and perform other assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts, or related discipline.
• Two to five years of experience as a production artist or in a similar position.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or other design software.
• Dynamic portfolio demonstrating expertise in design principles, production, and layout.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience designing with PowerPoint and/or Keynote presentation software.
