About the position

The Production Artist/Graphic Designer at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) plays a vital role in collaborating with the art direction team and other creative professionals to produce effective communication solutions that align with the university's branding. This position involves designing layouts, manipulating graphic elements, preparing files for production, and ensuring consistency in visual communication across various projects. The designer will also maintain campaign branding sheets and files, stay updated on design trends, and manage multiple tasks while adhering to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the associate and senior art directors to generate communication solutions.
• Design comprehensive layouts and manipulate graphic elements and typography.
• Prepare files for production and assist in creating concepts for presentations.
• Ensure consistency in visual communication and adhere to design and brand standards.
• Maintain campaign branding sheets and files for production and archival needs.
• Stay updated on new trends in design and print production.
• Implement rush job designs and perform other assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a related discipline.
• 2 to 5 years of experience as a production artist or in a similar position.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Dynamic portfolio demonstrating expertise in design principles, production, and layout.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience designing with PowerPoint and/or Keynote presentation software.
