About the position

The Production Artist/Graphic Designer at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) plays a vital role in collaborating with the art directors and a diverse team to create effective communication solutions that align with the university's branding. This position involves designing layouts, manipulating graphic elements, preparing files for production, and ensuring consistency in visual communication across various projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining campaign branding sheets, adhering to design standards, and staying updated on design trends while managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the associate and senior art directors to generate communication solutions.
• Design comprehensive layouts and manipulate graphic elements and typography.
• Prepare files for production and assist in creating concepts for presentations.
• Ensure consistency in visual communication and adhere to design and brand standards.
• Maintain campaign branding sheets and files for production and archival needs.
• Implement existing creative branding to new projects and uphold file management standards.
• Stay updated on new trends in design and print production.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned to meet department and university goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts, or related discipline.
• Two to five years of experience as a production artist or in a similar position.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or other design software.
• Dynamic portfolio demonstrating expertise in design principles, production, and layout.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience designing with PowerPoint and/or Keynote presentation software.
