About the position

The Production Assistant role at Dunmore International Corp is an entry-level position focused on ensuring quality standards in manufacturing processes. The position involves operating machinery, adhering to safety protocols, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment. The role requires effective communication and teamwork to meet production goals while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality standards by studying production schedules and customer specifications.
• Run jobs to specifications and standards, verifying and recording film weights and production transactions.
• Follow safety rules and procedures, including the proper use of PPE equipment.
• Collect and dispose of hazardous waste properly, labeling and sealing drums before disposal.
• Document operations by following quality standard requirements and noting order output and material usage.
• Obtain Quality Assurance approval and segregate or mark rejects as necessary.
• Complete basic maintenance requirements on equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend improvements to quality and processes.
• Communicate performance, activities, and non-conformances to the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in machine operations or manufacturing preferred.
• Proficient in setting up and running machines with a strong understanding of machine mechanics.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and read measurements accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
• Knowledge of compounding and chemicals.
• Ability to work in a team environment and emphasize safety and productivity.
