About the position

The Production Assistant role is a full-time position focused on supporting the Weekend Shift team in the Chevre department at LaClare Creamery. The primary responsibility is to assist in the packaging process of soft cheeses, ensuring the highest quality standards are met. This position requires working 12-hour shifts on weekends, with opportunities for overtime and competitive pay, including a shift premium.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the soft cheese packaging process to produce high-quality cheeses.
• Work with the Chevre Packaging Supervisor and production team to complete tasks in production areas.
• Operate equipment in the cheese packaging process to ensure safe and quality products.
• Document all steps in the production process to maintain accuracy and consistency.
• Perform product tests and make necessary adjustments according to recipe specifications.
• Monitor and prepare equipment in the cheese packaging process.
• Maintain a clean work environment by washing, rinsing, and sanitizing equipment after use.
• Complete scheduled sanitation responsibilities and documentation.
• Follow all food and personal safety policies and procedures.
• Promote company values and culture.

Requirements

• 1 year of manufacturing experience (preferred)
• 1 year of food production experience (preferred)
• 1 year of sanitation experience (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs continuously
• Ability to stand for 8 hours a day
• Flexibility to work in various creamery environments.

Nice-to-haves
