About the position

The Production Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Production Managers during live events, particularly in the context of theatrical productions on a moving train. This position involves a variety of tasks including assisting with logistics, communication, and ensuring a smooth operation during load-in and rehearsals. The role is designed for individuals looking to gain experience in the theater industry while contributing to a unique and immersive performance experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Production Managers in all aspects of the event including cast, crew, food service, ticketing, transportation, load-in, and load-out.
• Act as a runner to shop for supplies during load-in and technical rehearsals.
• Work with the production staff to incorporate last-minute changes during load-in and technical rehearsals.
• Become familiar with railroad safety rules and ensure compliance during events.
• Maintain a positive and enjoyable environment for all staff and passengers.

Requirements

• Experience with special events and theatrical events.
• Valid US driver's license and ability to drive a mini-van or passenger van.
• Experience handling petty cash and writing expense reports.
• Ability to work independently with self-motivation and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to anticipate and solve practical problems.
• Effective communication skills, both orally and in written form.
