About the position
Georgia-Pacific is seeking Production Associates for their Corrugated facility in Albany, GA. The role involves operating equipment, monitoring production processes, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Candidates must be flexible to work various shifts, including overtime, holidays, and weekends, primarily on 2nd and 3rd shifts after an initial orientation period on 1st shift.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets
- Monitor and/or enter data into computer control systems
- Troubleshoot equipment to optimize production
- Perform basic asset care duties including routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of work area
- Work as a team to help meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals
- Operate and/or work around mobile equipment
- Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve hours a day in a loud/noisy, industrial, high-volume environment
Requirements
- Continuous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, farming, or military environment OR completion of post high school education in a manufacturing/industrial centered program
Nice-to-haves
- Experience using a computer, tablet, or smart device
- Experience working in the corrugated packaging industry
