About the position

Quanex is looking for a Production Associate to join our team located in St. Cloud, Minnesota. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling components, feeding sanders, and working with HDF (High-Density Fiberboard) in a dusty environment. The position involves working with glue and may expose you to hazardous chemicals, which are specifically defined on accessible safety data sheets. You will be required to perform various physical activities including balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and doing repetitive motions. This role is essential in ensuring that the production process runs smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. The Production Associate will monitor products constantly to ensure that quality standards are being met. You will also be responsible for maintaining your work area in a neat and orderly condition in compliance with 5S standards. Following safety procedures and guidelines is crucial, and you will need to notify others of any existing or potential safety issues. Additionally, you will assist in other work areas when the workload permits or requires, promoting teamwork by cooperating and supporting your co-workers. Thorough documentation, such as production reports, is also a key part of this role, as is assembling various components based on customer specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 6 months of production, assembly or related work experience preferred.
  • Manual/finger dexterity skills.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
