About the position

As a Production Associate at Sonoco, you will play a crucial role in supporting our production operations. This position involves a variety of tasks that are essential to the efficient functioning of our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining production equipment or machinery, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Your duties will also include preparing, inspecting, and measuring raw materials to ensure they meet our high standards of quality. You will check components for compliance with tolerances or specifications, and may perform finish work as needed. In addition to these responsibilities, you will be expected to troubleshoot basic issues, clear jams, and splice and thread membrane into equipment. As part of your role, you may also provide training or guidance to new production workers, helping them to acclimate to our processes and standards. Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain production equipment or machinery.

  • Troubleshoot basic issues, clear jams, and splice and thread membrane into equipment.
  • Provide training or guidance to new production workers.

Requirements

  • 2 to 4 continuous years of experience operating machines.
  • Ability to perform work under general supervision.
  • Effective communication skills, particularly over the public address system.
  • Ability to handle moderately complex issues and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
