About the position

The Production Control and Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the establishment and administration of the Mobis U.S. Alabama (MUA) Production Control and Logistics Working Group. This role involves managing all aspects of production planning systems, logistics, warehouse operations, and engineering changes, ensuring comprehensive production management and effective communication with various departments and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for the customer production plan.
  • Monitor production plan changes and irregular orders, informing other departments.
  • Make changes to the production plan as necessary.
  • Maintain the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) process and conduct contingency plans when issues arise.
  • Maintain work order processes and production information in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Collect and maintain production index data in MES or manually.
  • Maintain monthly/weekly production reports and ensure data accuracy in the production index system.
  • Submit reports pertaining to plant planning activities and respond to requirements from headquarters.
  • Create and maintain part numbers and monitor incoming EDI for new parts.
  • Manage engineering change (EC) part changes and coordinate EC implementation with all plant departments.
  • Develop and maintain logistics plans, including transportation routes and inventory control procedures.
  • Ensure timely delivery of shipping containers and manage emergency transportation as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Business Management, or related field.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in JIS production control in the automotive industry.
  • Eight (8) years of supervisory experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of JIS processes and systems in the automotive industry.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial & systems engineering or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in automotive assembly/manufacturing.
  • Experience in plant setup and SAP (PP/MM/SD module and MES experience).
