The role requires a balance between operational efficiency and adherence to security protocols, ensuring that all staff members are trained and equipped to handle their responsibilities effectively. This position is permanent, full-time, and offers a promotion potential to GS-11, with a salary range of $72,553 to $94,317 per year. The job requires some travel, estimated at 25% or less, primarily for training purposes.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise staff in various UNICOR business and factory operations.
• Plan and assign work to maintain workflow and evaluate performance of federal civilian employees.
• Coordinate with quality control personnel and factory foremen to ensure quality control and quantity production.
• Plan production schedules and lay out process steps for each product work station.
• Specify equipment needed for tasks including cutting, assembling, printing, and packing.
• Maintain security of the institution as a primary responsibility.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 level in the normal line of progression for the occupation.
• Experience in planning production and specifying equipment for work stations.
• Experience in supervising and directing production planning and scheduling.
• Experience in coordinating with quality control personnel to ensure production standards are met.

• Graduate education related to the work of the position may be credited in some instances.
• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software such as SAP.
