About the position

The Production Coordinator is responsible for leading a team in a manufacturing environment, ensuring effective operations and continuous improvement. This role involves managing performance, facilitating training, and coordinating resources to meet production goals while promoting a safe and respectful workplace. The position requires collaboration with various departments and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize work and shift setup in accordance with throughput requirements.
  • Participate in staffing projections and facilitate scheduling of team overtime and PTO.
  • Manage first line performance issues and coach employees on time management and workmanship.
  • Champion safety and quality initiatives, leading by example.
  • Notify supervision when further action is required to improve performance.
  • Provide objective input for continuous improvement and performance reviews.
  • Train employees on new skills and improve performance to satisfactory levels.
  • Coordinate resources to assist other teams as necessary to meet daily throughput.
  • Support a respectful work environment that embraces diversity.
  • Provide leadership in a consistent and fair manner, avoiding favoritism.
  • Notify appropriate parties when a process is out of control and facilitate necessary changes.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for out of control conditions.
  • Set and display daily team production goals and update inventory status.
  • Coordinate long and short-term capacity requirements with planning and supervisors.
  • Interface with customers, engineering, and other departments for process walks and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with safe work habits and company policies.

Requirements

  • Salvage Analyst certification or ability to certify within 30 days.
  • Capability to certify in either 'A', 'B', or 'C' within 45 days and in two out of three within 12 months.
  • Penetrant Inspection Level II certification.
  • Visual/Dimensional Inspection certification.
  • HT Certification.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • X-Ray Level II certification as an acceptable substitute for requirement 'A' or 'B' if assigned to the X-Ray Area.
  • Additional certifications depending on assigned work center or departments.
