About the position

The Production Coordinator at Hitachi Astemo Americas, Inc. is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the production department. This role involves overseeing daily production activities, coordinating schedules, and monitoring workflow to optimize productivity and meet production targets. The Production Coordinator also implements and maintains safety protocols, quality standards, and process improvements within the production department.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily production activities and coordinates schedules.
  • Monitors workflow to optimize productivity and meet production targets.
  • Implements and maintains safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Plans production operations and establishes priorities.
  • Reviews production reports and resolves operational problems.
  • Conducts coaching and counseling sessions to resolve personnel issues.
  • Ensures training and rotations are established and safety policies are followed.
  • Reviews production orders and schedules production data.
  • Enters daily production and time sheets of subordinates.
  • Performs associate evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Tracks scrap costs and presents preventive ideas to management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 4 years related work experience.
  • Basic proficiency with PowerPoint, Windows, MS Word, and MS Access.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2-year college degree in Business Administration, Management, or Organizational Leadership.
  • 5P Training (5 Principles of Problem Solving: Define, Identify, Implement, Verify, Feedback/Feed-Forward).
  • Previous supervisory experience.
