About the position

The Production Department Technician is an entry-level position that plays a crucial role in the manufacturing of products used in diagnostic test kits. This position is eligible for overtime and reports directly to the Production Manager. The technician will work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to the production process within a clean room environment. Responsibilities include clean room preparation, operating various machinery such as a pouching machine, setting up and preparing bottles, capping bottles, cleaning storage bins, racking vials, and operating a plate sealing machine and a liquid dispensing line. The technician will also assist senior analysts with the manufacturing of products and other miscellaneous projects as they arise. In this role, the technician is expected to constantly evaluate the quality and quantity of the work being produced and report findings back to management. The job description allows management the flexibility to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities as needed, ensuring that the technician remains adaptable to the dynamic nature of the production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the manufacturing of products for diagnostic test kits.
  • Prepare clean room for production activities.
  • Operate pouching machine and perform bottle setup/preparation.
  • Cap bottles and clean storage bins as required.
  • Rack vials and operate plate sealing machine.
  • Run liquid dispensing line and ensure proper operation.
  • Assist senior analysts during product manufacturing and miscellaneous projects.
  • Evaluate quality and quantity of work produced and report to management.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Clean room experience.
  • Aseptic technique knowledge.
  • GMP/GLP experience.
