About the position

The position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of production, facility, and support equipment. The role involves troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining various electrical and mechanical systems to ensure operational efficiency and safety in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and test electrical and mechanical equipment on a routine basis.
  • Install and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, including disconnecting devices, conduits, wiring, overload protection devices, gear boxes, chains, hydraulic valves, and motors.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and test A.C. and D.C. control circuits, microprocessor and logic gate circuits, timing sequence circuits, and programmable controllers.
  • Repair air compressors, air conditioners, hoists, and maintain product handling equipment.
  • Maintain all electrical equipment in accordance with the National Electric Code.
  • Practice correct safety procedures and maintain safety systems on all production equipment.
  • Ensure work areas are left clean during and after tasks, with all doors and covers closed or replaced.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Must possess and demonstrate initiative and logic in resolving complex electrical and mechanical problems.
  • General knowledge of electrical and electronic theory.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams.
  • General knowledge of logic/gate circuitry, microprocessor controllers, and control sequence/timing devices.
  • General knowledge of federal, state, and local electrical codes as they apply to industrial plant operations.
  • Skill in the use of equipment testing devices.
  • Knowledge of proper techniques for troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • General knowledge of methods for fabrication or modification of new or existing equipment.
  • General knowledge of proper application and care of typical maintenance repair and fabrication shop equipment/tools.
  • Willingness to attend company-sponsored training courses in the U.S. and abroad.
  • Willingness to work overtime hours as needed and accept night/weekend call-ins for emergency work.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • General skills necessary for interaction with PC software applications, e.g., SAP, MS Office.
  • Basic knowledge of PLCs, including troubleshooting techniques.
  • General knowledge of electronic safety devices, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Basic knowledge of troubleshooting and repair of industrial wired and wireless networking components.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited Industrial Maintenance Program or military equivalent, including electric training.
  • Two years maintenance experience in an industrial environment preferred.
