About the position

The position involves assessing risks associated with new tasks or reworks on aircraft and components, and defining action plans to mitigate those risks. The role requires coordination and management of daily technical action plans, ensuring that assembly team managers are informed about task assignments, operations, and discrepancies. Daily monitoring of critical issues is essential, along with making necessary improvements to maintain production schedules. The individual will report critical issues to the assembly team manager and coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and documentation. Additionally, the role includes conducting root cause analysis and defining corrective action plans to enhance processes related to cost, schedule, and quality. The individual will manage aircraft/component transfers and projects under the supervision of Business Unit management and may serve as a subject matter expert for special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the risk induced by new tasks or reworks on the aircraft/components progress and defines action plans to negate those risks.
  • Propose risk reduction plans for future improvement.
  • Coordinate and manage daily technical action plans and follow up with assembly team managers concerning assignment of tasks, operations and discrepancies.
  • Conduct daily monitoring of critical issues and make improvements when needed.
  • Report to the assembly team Manager about critical issues with input regarding recommendations and actions to resolve them.
  • Coordinate with other departments ensuring timely delivery of materials, parts, documentation, and engineering data.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and define a corrective action plan to improve the process or product.
  • Manage aircraft/components transfers, projects, and new processes under supervision.
  • Utilize support teams to maintain the aircraft/components production process and improve the schedule.
  • May be selected as the assembly team's subject matter expert (SME) for special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Engineering, Business or related field, or equivalent work experience (1 year of education = 2 years of experience).
  • Three (3) years of experience in aircraft completions, maintenance and/or components manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and challenges related to the management of the production process.
  • Ability to research, analyze and recommend efficient production processes through production engineering concepts.
  • Ability to read, understand and communicate technical information in aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Proven abilities in analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems by determining and following detailed action plans.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Project, Access and SharePoint.
  • Must be able to function throughout the total facility, including up and down stairs and in and out of aircraft.
