About the position
The Production Engineer position at Actalent involves overseeing process improvements in the Assembly area, focusing on project management and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems to enhance efficiency. The role requires working with automated assembly equipment, including robotics and PLCs, and utilizing design software like AutoCAD or SolidWorks for modifications. The engineer will also be responsible for documentation and data analysis using SQL databases, as well as implementing preventive maintenance schedules.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects related to process improvements in the Assembly area.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems in automated assembly equipment.
- Utilize AutoCAD or SolidWorks for modifications to equipment, tooling, or fixtures.
- Create and update documentation for team members and maintenance staff.
- Review data collected on processes using SQL databases.
- Implement a preventive maintenance schedule for maintenance staff.
Requirements
- 2+ years of automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of process improvement methodologies.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting.
