About the position

The Production Engineer at Hino Motors Manufacturing plays a crucial role in supporting the Engineering department by assisting General and Production Supervisors in resolving technical issues, improving processes, and providing data-driven insights for decision-making. This position focuses on developing and implementing projects that promote a safe, quality-oriented, productive, and cost-efficient working environment while overseeing production line functions to meet or exceed internal and customer goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Production Team in resolving technical and complex problems.
• Implement Kaizen operations to increase safety, quality, and production while decreasing costs.
• Develop standardized procedures and control methods to maintain safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
• Maintain document control of assigned lines.
• Conduct meetings with other departments to inform, monitor, and control project progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical or industrial)
• Two years of experience (preferred)
• Five years of production engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines/targets.
• Ability to identify and effectively resolve problems based on data collection and analysis to determine root cause.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio) and other computer applications/programs.
• Knowledge of 5S/TPS policies.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information for all Hino and Customer parts and processes.
• Ability to read and make CAD drawings.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar process concepts through hands-on work, observation, and research.
