About the position

Oxy is seeking a Production Engineer to join its Well Servicing Team in Platteville, Colorado. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of well service and production operations. The Production Engineer will collaborate with a team of engineers and technicians, leveraging their expertise in well service and production engineering procedures to enhance operational performance. The position requires a strong understanding of wellbore information and the ability to draft procedures that align with Oxy and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will be experienced, motivated, and creative, with a focus on reducing costs and cycle times while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Research well files and compile wellbore information to create plug and abandonment procedures, ensuring compliance with Oxy and industry standards, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder obligations.
  • Assist in compiling necessary information for root-cause failure analysis meetings and well work procedures, providing cost estimates and options for increased time to market and run life.
  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in collaboration with the engineering manager, utilizing tools such as Spotfire, PowerBi, and Excel.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, along with company HSE training requirements and policies.

Requirements

  • Holds a Petroleum Engineering Degree or related engineering field from an accredited ABET program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related engineering work experience in the oil & gas industry.
  • Demonstrates sound working knowledge of basic technical principles and applies them to solve routine problems.
  • Possesses strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs and data management tools (Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBi, Spotfire).
  • Exhibits a strong work ethic and is self-motivated.
