About the position

The Production Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing manufacturing processes in an automotive parts manufacturing facility. This role focuses on evaluating cost-effectiveness, leading improvement initiatives, coordinating engineering releases, and mentoring junior staff. The supervisor ensures that production meets quality standards while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes for cost effectiveness and feasibility before and after engineering releases.
  • Lead Kaizen (improvement) and cost reduction activities and projects.
  • Coordinate all engineering releases and changes related to routings, setting standards, and data entry, ensuring quality control to meet customer requirements.
  • Utilize CAD software applications for the design and development of equipment and parts drawings, including 3-D imaging and motion for process simulation.
  • Determine priorities with the Production Manager and maintain detailed documentation as required.
  • Investigate, justify, purchase, and track company assets.
  • Conduct layouts and supervise necessary construction for plant expansion or alterations, coordinating with external contractors.
  • Mentor junior level staff in leadership ideals and TICO practices, promoting management and leadership skill development.
  • Maintain high employee morale, minimize staff turnover, and promote a positive teamwork environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 2 years of Toyota Industries Group experience at the senior level or 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD systems (AutoCAD/Inventor/CATIA, etc.).
  • Knowledge and capability in electrical and mechanical design.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and PLC (Keyence, etc.) Logic and Robot operation (IAI/Denso, etc.).
  • Excellent communication (speaking, writing, reading, listening) and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
