About the position

Production Engineers at Meta are hybrid software/systems/infrastructure engineers responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and future scalability of Meta's services. They are integral members of Meta's product and infrastructure teams, participating in significant engineering projects. The role requires a blend of technical skills and a collaborative attitude, as engineers work on complex systems that impact billions of users globally.

Responsibilities

• Own back-end services for fleet management and front-end services like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Meta Ads.
• Manage infrastructure components that support Meta's AI advancements and core services used across the company.
• Write and review code, develop documentation, and create capacity plans.
• Debug complex problems in real-time on large systems.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and act as an escalation contact for service incidents.
• Collaborate with top engineers in the industry on innovative projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience in UNIX and TCP/IP network fundamentals.
• 6+ years of coding experience in various programming languages.
• Experience with software frameworks and APIs.
• Knowledge of Internet service architecture capacity planning and urgent capacity needs.
• Familiarity with common web technologies and Internet service architectures (e.g., LAMP, MEAN stacks, CDN, Load Balancing).
• Experience configuring and running infrastructure-level applications (e.g., Kubernetes, Terraform, MySQL).
