The Production Equipment Category Manager at CRH's Americas Materials division plays a crucial role in driving cost reductions and strategically managing supplier relationships to enhance the company's profitability and competitive edge. This position is based anywhere in the South Division and is responsible for overseeing spend categories related to production equipment. The Category Manager will implement all category-related decisions regarding products and services at a local level, ensuring that local business requirements are integrated into the category strategy. As a member of the regional category team, the Category Manager will utilize the category management process to develop strategies, execute tenders, and establish effective supply programs. This role requires direct collaboration with suppliers, CRH procurement personnel, specifiers, subject matter experts, management, and other key internal stakeholders to achieve program objectives. The Category Manager will act as the primary contact for the business regarding production equipment, ensuring that procurement processes adhere to key performance indicators (KPIs) and best practices. Key responsibilities include executing the RFX and tactical processes, negotiating for smaller or single-country categories, and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers. The Category Manager will analyze the supply market, anticipate changes, and drive procurement activities accordingly. This role also involves evaluating contracts and suppliers to facilitate final supplier base decisions, coordinating category and supplier strategy implementation, and ensuring compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded procurement professional with strong business acumen, capable of leading the execution of the divisional category management agenda. They should possess excellent interpersonal skills and be dedicated to enhancing collaboration between the business and the regional procurement organization to meet production equipment procurement objectives.
