About the position
Butterball, LLC, one of America’s most iconic brands, is seeking an Evisceration Associate to join our team in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina. This position plays a crucial role in our operations, as the Evisceration Associate is responsible for cleaning and eviscerating recently slaughtered turkeys, preparing them for secondary processing. The work environment is fast-paced and requires adherence to strict safety and quality standards, including USDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The role involves performing various manual, repetitive tasks, utilizing tools such as knives and scissors to remove organs and parts from the turkeys. Associates will be trained to rotate through different jobs within the department, ensuring versatility and efficiency in operations. The Evisceration Associate will work in a dynamic environment where job duties may change daily based on production needs. The department's temperature can fluctuate with the seasons, and associates will be exposed to damp conditions and loud noises, with sound levels ranging from 86 to 99 dB. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying weights up to sixty pounds, and the ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, and gloves. Responsibilities
- Perform varying manual, repetitive tasks to remove organs and parts from slaughtered turkeys.
- Utilize tools such as knives and scissors to assist in the evisceration process.
- Train to proficiency to rotate through jobs and perform multiple tasks within the department.
- Perform any job in the department at the supervisor’s discretion.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirement.
- No previous work experience required.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
- Must be eligible to work legally in the United States.
