The Production Forklift Operator at Premium Waters is a vital role within the warehouse department, responsible for ensuring the efficient handling of goods and materials. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The operator will be tasked with receiving incoming goods, preparing products for shipment, and loading trucks, all while adhering to safety and quality standards. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with previous forklift experience, and certification is preferred. The operator must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed, demonstrating basic reading, writing, and math skills to perform their duties effectively. In this role, the operator will unload trucks, examine incoming goods, and sign for them, noting any discrepancies. They will review bills of lading to determine shipping requirements and stage products and supplies before trucks arrive. This includes restacking damaged or partial pallets as necessary. The operator will load trucks using a forklift and by hand when required, while also maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment. Effective communication with shipping personnel and shift supervisors is essential to address any problems or product information needs. The operator must understand and perform proper pallet tagging and lot number recording procedures, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements while on the production floor. The operator will be expected to follow standard operating procedures, including conducting quality checks and adhering to food safety and quality objectives as outlined by the Safe Quality Food (SQF) System. Non-essential duties may include performing related work as assigned by the manager, with the understanding that responsibilities may be covered by the direct manager or an appointee in the absence of the operator.
