Gia-Pacific's Hummingbird® is seeking a talented, experienced, and highly collaborative Production Graphic Designer to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona at our newest state of the art Hummingbird® digital press location. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with Project Managers and the Prepress Department to adapt client-supplied art for structures in the Corrugated Packaging and Displays industry. This role's function is 80% technical art-focused and 20% creative art-focused, with little to no direct customer-facing responsibilities. Using brand guidelines and existing collateral as visual references, you'll partner with the Sales Team, Project Managers, and Technical planning specialists to adapt production art for packaging, displays, and structures, ensuring specific imposition requirements are met. Collaborate with the Graphics Manager, Color Manager, Account Service Rep, and Prepress SME to ensure the highest quality file outputs. You will prepare production-ready files for large-format digital printing, communicate with Project Managers to address general art questions, job specifications, and clarification of notes, and manipulate customer art files to fit project specifications as needed. You will also apply Hummingbird best practices to correct and edit client art, identifying opportunities to optimize the process of producing Production Ready artwork. Your role will involve using constructive criticism and feedback to develop and refine art, maintaining accurate records of all work and time using our Workflow Interface, and outputting physical press proof files and Epson proofs to ensure accuracy and quality. Effective communication with peers and management in a fast-paced environment is essential, along with a strong sense of business acumen to understand and incorporate organizational strategies and objectives into daily work. You will seek knowledge about the capabilities and limitations of artwork preparation and leverage strong time-management and organizational skills to operate independently with minimal direction. An effective problem solver and motivated thinker, you will play a crucial role in our production process.
