About the position

The Production Graphic Designer at Georgia-Pacific's Hummingbird will play a crucial role in adapting client-supplied art for the Corrugated Packaging and Displays industry. This position is primarily technical, focusing on preparing print-ready files while collaborating with various teams to ensure high-quality outputs. The role is 100% on-site and emphasizes teamwork and innovation in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sales Team, Project Managers, and Technical planning specialists to adapt production art for packaging, displays, and structures.
  • Prepare print-ready files for large-format digital press printing.
  • Communicate with Project Managers to address general art questions, job specifications, and clarification of notes.
  • Manipulate customer art files to fit project specifications as needed.
  • Apply Hummingbird best practices to correct and edit client art, optimizing the process of producing production-ready artwork.
  • Use constructive criticism and feedback to develop and refine art.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work and time using the Workflow Interface.
  • Output physical press proof files and Epson printer proofs, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Communicate effectively with peers and management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Apply a strong sense of business acumen to incorporate organizational strategies and objectives into daily work.
  • Seek and share knowledge about the capabilities and limitations of artwork preparation.
  • Leverage strong time-management and organizational skills to operate independently with minimal direction.
  • Act as an effective problem solver and motivated thinker.

Requirements

  • Experience working as a Production Artist.
  • Knowledge of best file practices for Print Pre-Production.
  • Highly detail-oriented in delivering clean, efficient, and error-free files.
  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop).
  • Knowledge of printing and prepress imposition.
  • Experience managing files and maintaining existing file organization structures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the Digital Printing Industry.
  • Experience in the Corrugated or Packaging Industry.
  • Experience in Color Managed file preparation.
  • Knowledge of Flexographic/Lithographic/Gravure Printing Industries.
  • Experience working with Project Managers, Creative Designers, and Prepress Operators.
  • Hybrid Packz Software experience.
