About The Position

The Production Lead for Materne, North America is responsible for supporting the Production Supervisor in managing the daily operations of the production team during the B shift. This role involves leading team members, ensuring product quality, and maintaining safety and compliance standards while striving to meet performance objectives. The Production Lead will also assist in troubleshooting operational challenges and facilitate effective communication within the team and across departments.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience as a trainer, lead, or Supervisor in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • Previous food manufacturing experience is highly desired.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to perform intermediate math calculations.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the production team members during a 12-hour work shift by maintaining a consistent, visible presence in the production workshop.
  • Mentor and motivate team members to follow safe work practices, comply with GMPs and production standards while striving to meet performance objectives.
  • Assist the Supervisor in ensuring the integrity of finished product quality and make independent decisions related to operations as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day challenges and operator needs, escalating to the Supervisor when appropriate.
  • Coordinate scheduled work activities, including start-up, shut-down, and mid-week CIP.
  • Monitor KPP boards, VPA boards, and production flow, using data indicators to recommend improvements.
  • Investigate and ensure accurate reporting of non-compliant materials or supplies and facilitate timely submission of production paperwork.
  • Observe and monitor training activities of team members, providing feedback to the Supervisor.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and facilitate implementation of new processes.
  • Assist with employee breaks and ensure adequate coverage for unplanned absences.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and report violations promptly.
  • Support the Supervisor with performance evaluations and recommendations for ratings.
  • Perform sensory testing on the lines to ensure product quality.
