About the position
The Production Leader II position at Sauder Manufacturing Co. is responsible for leading and engaging employees in the production department. This role involves overseeing performance reviews, assisting with disciplinary actions, conducting interviews, and leading safety investigations. The Production Leader ensures that employees receive proper training, maintains quality and on-time delivery standards, and meets daily production goals. The position requires a working knowledge of lean tools and the ability to build relationships across the plant to achieve results through influence and servant leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead and engage employees
- Maintain and develop employees
- Conduct performance review process with employees
- Assist with disciplinary actions of employees
- Help with interviews
- Lead safety investigations within the department
- Ensure employees have proper training and cross-training
- Maintain quality and on-time delivery standards
- Ensure daily production goals are met
- Facilitate department meetings
- Supervise employees and make decisions on product flow within the department
- Implement change by facilitating and coaching employees to accomplish tasks, stay motivated and accountable, and mentor teams to achieve goals.
Requirements
- 3-5 years' related work experience with key responsibilities
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous Manufacturing Experience preferred
- Previous Leadership Experience required
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Strong communication skills
- Able to use hand-held power tools with accuracy and precision
- Computer proficiency - Access, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Experience with integrated ERP business systems (HFA-Friedman preferred)
