About the position

The Production Line Manager at Philip Morris International (PMI) is responsible for overseeing production activities and processes within a designated shift. This role involves leading a team to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality standards are met while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The manager acts as a decision-maker on the production floor, coordinating with Line Coordinators and supporting the achievement of performance targets aligned with the company's smoke-free future initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a role model for the shift crew.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and high housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain machinery and escalate anomalies to the appropriate line structure.
  • Contribute to Value Stream activities to meet volume objectives cost-effectively.
  • Support synergies across different shifts to align with plans and standards.
  • Adopt OPEN+ tools to identify inefficiencies and drive corrective actions.
  • Coach the crew towards continuous improvement in productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Organize, supervise, and coach the work of direct and indirect reports.
  • Propose and implement organizational and headcount strategies.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of the production process and common challenges.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is a plus.
  • Scheduling and resource management skills.
  • Team leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge of quality control and assurance standards.
  • University/master's degree in engineering, Business Administration, Management, or equivalent education.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Well-developed IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SAP, PLM).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
