About the position

The Production Location Manager at Beck's Superior Hybrids is responsible for managing and directing seed production operations at the Atlanta, IN location. This role involves overseeing teams, ensuring quality production of seed corn, wheat, and soybeans, and maintaining safety standards. The manager will engage in continuous improvement planning and report on crop and operational status to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and ensure the successful production of seed corn, wheat, and soybeans at the location.
  • Engage reports and peers in continuous improvement planning and feedback loops to drive focus and team morale.
  • Monitor quality throughout production processes to ensure quality seed and safe work conditions.
  • Work with Production Managers and team leaders to plan production and determine specific needs for seed sale and shipping.
  • Lead the development, coordination, and communication of production planning and activities.
  • Prepare staff and align teams to ensure timeliness and successful operations.
  • Uphold, enforce, and support safety policy and procedures of activities.
  • Report status of crop, staffing, and operations on a weekly basis to the Production Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as may be required by the Production Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Agronomy and/or Agriculture.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck's automobile insurance policy.
  • Basic Agronomic knowledge of row crop corn and soybean production.
  • Knowledge of farm systems including planters, irrigation, grain handling, applicators, harvesters, and mechanics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and GPS/GIS software.
  • Experience in seed corn production techniques.
  • CDL-A or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete Beck's Fork Lift training may be required.
  • Minimum of five years in the field seed corn production industry.
  • Minimum of one year experience managing personnel.
