We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team in Wilson, NC, where we are committed to saving lives through the design and manufacturing of fire protection systems for commercial and military aircraft and ground vehicles. In this role, you will perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other physical structures, ensuring that our equipment operates efficiently and safely. You will troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical problems on various equipment, requiring a basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, and plumbing. Your responsibilities will include maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility mechanical components and electrical systems, as well as performing machine repair and general preventative maintenance on equipment in compliance with our preventative maintenance programs. You will also provide support in the development and implementation of facility and equipment upgrades, ensuring that all paperwork is maintained to document repair and preventative maintenance work completed. Compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications, and safety policies is essential. This position may also involve other duties as assigned, contributing to a collaborative and innovative work environment. In this role, you will learn about safety protocols and best practices to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of yourself and others in the workplace. You will become skilled at diagnosing problems when equipment or systems malfunction, which often involves understanding how different components work together and using diagnostic tools to identify issues. You will also learn how to perform repairs and preventative maintenance to keep equipment and systems in good working order, which may involve tasks like replacing parts, calibrating equipment, or conducting routine inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and other physical structures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical problems on equipment.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility mechanical components and electrical systems.
  • Perform machine repair and general preventative maintenance on equipment in compliance with preventative maintenance programs.
  • Provide support in the development and implementation of facility and equipment upgrades.
  • Maintain all paperwork to document repair and preventative maintenance work completed.
  • Comply with SOPs, internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications, and safety policies.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status).
  • Experience in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience in electrical systems or mechanical systems or hydraulics or pneumatics.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Good understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
