About the position

The Production Manager - Aftermarket/Product Support at Pierce Manufacturing is responsible for leading a People First culture within a manufacturing environment. This role involves planning, organizing, and executing production plans while driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and costs. The Production Manager ensures that all production contractual commitments are consistently met and serves as a point of escalation for unresolved issues.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the plant manufacturing process and daily workflow across multiple areas/processes.
  • Ensure department-specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met and develop plans to meet requirements set forth by the master plan.
  • Drive accountability and results by balancing data with team member perspectives.
  • Understand production goals and ensure budgeted labor is within plan.
  • Partner with Operations leadership on execution plans.
  • Develop and support robust processes to improve quality and productivity.
  • Support implementation of and track major transformational programs.
  • Champion a continuous improvement culture ensuring engagement and commitment.
  • Manage financial/budget development and planning, approving expenditures while keeping operations within budget.
  • Evaluate existing supplier relationships to enhance quality and efficiency while reducing costs.
  • Interact with customers in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with five (5) years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Management experience leading and developing others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Three (3) or more years of experience leading people and teams.
  • Experience managing a complex manufacturing environment with multiple departments.
  • Knowledge in fire apparatus or heavy industrial truck manufacturing.
  • Experience with capacity planning and resource planning.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Kronos, and ERP systems (JDE preferred).
