About the position

The Production Manager Assistant plays a crucial role in the food production process, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position is responsible for preparing weekly employee schedules based on the capacity plan and the specific needs of each category. The assistant will analyze daily capacity plans and prepare daily production reports to monitor the workflow and productivity levels. A key aspect of this role involves monitoring yield rates, identifying deviations from standard rates, and collaborating with the Production Manager to implement corrective actions as necessary. In addition to scheduling and reporting, the Production Manager Assistant will oversee inventory management, ensuring that the right raw materials are utilized based on their harvest or packed dates. This includes preparing daily attendance and leave reports, comparing actual attendance against preset schedules, and identifying any discrepancies. The assistant will also be responsible for designing specification sheets for each item code, which is essential for maintaining quality and consistency in production. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Production Manager or management. This position is vital for maintaining operational efficiency and supporting the overall production goals of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of weekly employee schedules by Thursday of each week for the subsequent week upon receipt of the weekly capacity plan and category-wise employee requirement
  • Daily capacity plan analysis
  • Preparation of daily production reports
  • Monitor and report deviations in the actual yield rates from the standard yield rates, discussing with the Production Manager to take necessary corrective/preventive actions
  • Inventory management based on harvest/packed date
  • Ensure the right raw material is used to cut the final product
  • Monitoring efficiency levels of the employees
  • Preparation of daily attendance and leave reports, comparing actual attendance against preset schedules, identifying deviations and sharing reports with the Production Manager
  • Design specification sheets for each item code
  • Carry out any other task assigned by the Production Manager or management.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in food production
  • 1 year of management experience (preferred)
  • Ability to commute to Los Angeles, CA (required)
  • Ability to relocate to Los Angeles, CA before starting work (required)
