About the position

Alsco Uniforms is seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Manager to oversee and enhance the operations within our Production Department. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our production processes are efficient, effective, and aligned with our company standards. The Production Manager will be responsible for organizing and supervising the work of the production staff, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. This includes monitoring labor utilization, production efficiency, and managing departmental expenses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business management within a production environment, with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience. In this role, you will lead, train, and supervise the production staff, ensuring that all new hires receive comprehensive training and that ongoing training is provided to all team members. You will work closely with engineering, sales, and service management to facilitate smooth operations and ensure that production policies, procedures, and standards are executed effectively. Additionally, you will be responsible for setting and monitoring production standards, quality control, safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The Production Manager will also play a key role in budget management, including creating and adhering to departmental budgets, as well as handling hiring, disciplinary actions, and employee relations. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to motivate and develop staff, and excellent communication skills. You will be expected to follow both written and verbal instructions, attend meetings, and perform other tasks as directed by supervision. Responsibilities

  • Organize and supervise work in the Production Department.
  • Monitor and implement changes in work methods and equipment usage to improve efficiency.
  • Lead, train, and supervise the Production staff and departments.
  • Oversee new hire training and conduct ongoing training for all departments.
  • Consult with engineering, sales, and service management to ensure smooth plant operations.
  • Execute company production policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Set, monitor, and ensure adherence to production, quality, housekeeping, and safety standards.
  • Create and adhere to departmental budgets, including hiring and employee relations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of business management experience in a production environment.
  • Strong supervisory and management skills.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to lead and motivate staff.
  • Ability to recognize colors, sizes, and types of products.
  • Proficient in counting, adding, and subtracting accurately.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow directions and good time management skills.

  • Experience in an industrial laundry facility.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols in a production environment.
