About the position

The Production Manager (Chemical) role is focused on overseeing the production operations within a chemical manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for implementing departmental policies, managing budgets, ensuring safety and environmental compliance, and coordinating production activities. The role requires strong leadership and project management skills to drive continuous improvement and meet production goals.

Responsibilities

• Implement departmental policies, objectives, and goals.
• Coordinate businesses or departments related to production, pricing, sales, or distribution.
• Develop department budgets and performance metrics, ensuring goals are met.
• Establish safety and environmental performance targets, ensuring compliance with EH&S procedures.
• Conduct quality audits on products throughout the plant.
• Provide training for plant staff.
• Respond to external customer needs through plant visits and assist in customer surveys and complaint resolution.
• Reduce plant production costs and increase safety standards.
• Coordinate production activities including job scheduling and staffing, and hold daily meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of Plant Management experience in a manufacturing industry, specifically in chemical manufacturing.
• Proven experience in reducing plant production costs and increasing safety standards.
• Experience implementing continuous improvement/lean tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, and Lean Manufacturing.
• Strong project management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong leadership qualities.
