About the position

The Production Manager at Goodwill Industries of Michiana Inc. plays a crucial role in assisting retail store management with the implementation and administration of merchandise processing. This position is responsible for coordinating the activities of Production Associates to meet daily production goals while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The role supports the mission of Goodwill by empowering individuals and families through education, training, and job placement.

Responsibilities

• Assist retail store management in implementing and directing merchandise processing.
• Coordinate activities of Production Associates to achieve daily production goals.
• Train employees on work performance, customer interaction, and occupational safety.
• Plan and implement work schedules and estimate employee-hour requirements.
• Ensure completion of two textile audits per hanger per day and track processed racks.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, and termination decisions for Production personnel.
• Evaluate employee performance and complete performance appraisals.
• Maintain compliance with legal requirements and enhance the agency's image.
• Enhance safety programs by following safety requirements and reporting incidents.
• Maintain security of the premises and merchandise.
• Ensure the sales floor is well stocked and merchandise is properly displayed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to market Goodwill and explain its mission to the public.
• Ability to serve customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Ability to lead production associates in processing activities.
• Knowledge of established policies and relevant occupational safety rules.
