About the position

The Production Manager for Gene Synthesis at GenScript is responsible for overseeing the gene production business, ensuring operational efficiency, and enhancing competitiveness in the market. This role involves strategic planning, implementation of work plans, and management of production performance indicators. The manager will also be responsible for training new team members and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor market information and understand industry trends to enhance the core competitiveness of the gene production business.
• Participate in developing strategic plans for the gene business line.
• Formulate annual, quarterly, and monthly work plans.
• Effectively break down and follow up on the implementation progress of work plans for each team.
• Conduct operation management to ensure the achievement of organizational performance indicators such as production output, production transfer profit, first-time success rate, and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee the training of new department members and implement internal training.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry or related fields.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in the field of gene synthesis and 3+ years of team management experience.
• Experience working in a high throughput manufacturing environment, and flexibility to modifications in the work environment.
• Strong team management, communication, and coordination skills.
• Basic knowledge of molecular biology required; knowledge in project management, 5S management, and quality management systems are preferred.
• Experience with automation tools is preferred.
• Strong sense of work responsibility and cost awareness.
