About the position

Teufel Landscape is seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Manager to join our commercial landscaping team based in Redmond, WA. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, with the potential for overtime on weekends as needed. The Production Manager will play a crucial role in supervising and training maintenance field Crew Leads and crew members, ensuring that all aspects of landscape maintenance services are executed efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial landscape maintenance and grounds management, with a focus on promoting high-quality work and effective communication with both internal teams and external clients. In this role, the Production Manager will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining irrigation controllers, coordinating repairs, and reviewing equipment needs and maintenance schedules in collaboration with the Operations Manager. The position also involves conducting general and safety meetings for the crew, ensuring the safe operation of all maintenance equipment, and driving company-owned vehicles. The Production Manager will work closely with other managers and crew leads to develop work schedules that accommodate seasonal needs and will assist with snow removal during winter months. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and vendors, ensuring that crews are well-equipped and informed to deliver the safest and highest quality work. Additionally, the Production Manager will monitor the integrity of information provided to the accounting system, oversee equipment inventory, and stay informed about new practices in the green industry. Customer service and sales skills are essential, as the role includes maintaining excellent on-site relations and identifying enhancement opportunities on jobsites.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train maintenance field Crew Leads and crew members on all aspects of landscape maintenance services.
  • Monitor and maintain irrigation controller including coordination of repairs.
  • Review equipment needs and maintenance schedules with Operations Manager.
  • Perform and/or participate in crew and department general and safety meetings.
  • Ensure the safe operation of all maintenance equipment.
  • Safely drive company-owned vehicles.
  • Work with other Maintenance Managers to ensure a consistent product.
  • Collaborate with other managers and crew leads on work schedules including seasonal work needs.
  • Assist with snow removal in the winter months.
  • Meet seasonal deadlines set by the Operations Manager.
  • Communicate professionally with internal and external personnel, customers, and vendors.
  • Ensure crews are equipped and informed to provide the safest, highest quality work efficiently.
  • Promote proper horticulture by training field supervisors and labor.
  • Monitor the integrity of information provided to the accounting system (timesheets and work orders).
  • Monitor equipment inventory and ensure equipment is properly serviced.
  • Stay informed of new practices in the green industry.
  • Maintain excellent on-site relations and communications with clients, contractors, and/or subcontractors as needed.
  • Encourage multiple sales from current clients and assist in identifying enhancement opportunities on jobsites.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years Commercial Landscape Maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Commercial Grounds Management.
  • Must have a valid Driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
  • Pesticide applicators license, or the ability to obtain one preferred.
  • Must have good communication skills and ability to motivate others.
  • Must comply with Teufel Landscape's policies and procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
  • Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns, and other environmental risks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Pesticide applicators license preferred.
