About the position

The Production Manager at Hubbell Power Systems in Mayville, WI is responsible for leading all operational aspects of the manufacturing facility, focusing on personnel management, productivity, and on-time delivery. The role emphasizes process improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance, utilizing methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. The manager will implement company policies and strategies, translating them into actionable goals for the team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct overall operations.
• Maintain a safe working environment consistent with local, state, and OSHA requirements.
• Originate, measure, and improve key indicators for the production team (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost).
• Enhance the LEAN culture and ensure a clean, well-organized production area through continuous improvement and 5S.
• Implement and drive continuous improvement activities by eliminating non-value-added activities in the manufacturing process.
• Approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring efficient use of materials, labor, and equipment.
• Establish work requirements and ensure production schedules are met.
• Develop staff and foster a culture dedicated to high levels of quality and customer service.

Requirements

• 3-5 years experience as a Production/Operations Manager in a medium to heavy manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma principles.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Previous experience in a union environment preferred.
