About the position

The Production Manager at Tesla's Megafactory in Lathrop, CA, is responsible for overseeing the production plan and driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. This role involves providing leadership and coaching to the production team, ensuring high product quality, and maintaining optimal resource utilization while adhering to safety practices. The Production Manager will also collaborate with various departments to resolve issues and enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Build a strong, motivated production team capable of consistently delivering high-quality products against aggressive production targets
• Maintain high product quality and manufacturing yield while ensuring optimal use of resources and adherence to best safety practices
• Ensure production teams utilize standardized work and consistent work practices across shifts and areas
• Monitor metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to assess Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
• Help with the implementation of and continued adherence to Lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives
• Partner and coordinate with Design, Engineering, Quality, HR, and Maintenance to resolve issues and concerns
• Document EHS incidents and proactively correct workplace hazards in the areas
• Empower team members to continuously improve operations

Requirements

• 10 years of manufacturing experience preferred
• Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assembly; Body in White or E-Coating is a plus
• Analytical, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to communicate pro-actively with all employees
• Experience with process improvement methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Good understanding of mechanical and standardized processes
• Ability to use problem-solving methods and techniques to resolve problems efficiently
• Ability to foster a close working relationship with team members and management
