About the position

The Production Manager at Krispy Kreme plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager and ensuring the smooth operation of the commissary. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to develop their skills and work towards becoming a General Manager. The Production Manager is responsible for exceeding customer expectations, fostering teamwork, and developing the abilities of staff members while achieving the financial objectives set for their location. The role encompasses various aspects of production, sales, safety, sanitation, equipment maintenance, personnel management, accounting, and leadership. In terms of production, the Production Manager must understand and implement procedures that maximize efficiencies and control variances in daily production. This includes coordinating production schedules to meet customer demands while minimizing labor hours and ensuring that all products meet Krispy Kreme's quality standards. The manager will also be responsible for inspecting and troubleshooting any production or equipment problems that may arise. On the sales front, the Production Manager collaborates with the General Manager to achieve business plan objectives and profitability as outlined in the commissary operating plan. Safety and sanitation are paramount, and the manager must demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all safety protocols and cleaning schedules. The role also involves overseeing the upkeep of the commissary facility and equipment, assisting in recruiting, hiring, training, and resolving disputes among personnel. The Production Manager will supervise all shift personnel, build a customer-focused team, and ensure effective communication of company policies and standards. Financial responsibilities include assisting the General Manager in managing income and expense budgets, completing corporate reporting documentation, and managing company resources responsibly, including inventory control. The Production Manager must also communicate and model company standards and policies, implement directives from management, and maintain an efficient organizational structure within the commissary.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement procedures to maximize efficiencies and control variances in daily production of product and overall commissary performance
  • Understand and implement commissary quality control procedures, including standards
  • Coordinate production schedules to meet customer demands and minimize labor hours
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and assess any production or equipment problems
  • Ensure all products meet Krispy Kreme quality standards
  • Work with the General Manager to achieve business plan objectives and profitability as set forth in the commissary operating plan
  • Demonstrate safety consciousness and promote commissary safety
  • Maintain a high level of commissary sanitation and cleanliness
  • Oversee proper upkeep of commissary facility and equipment
  • Assist the General Manager in recruiting, hiring, training, and dispute resolution
  • Supervise all shift personnel
  • Build a team of customer-focused employees and foster teamwork
  • Demonstrate leadership in employee development, including that of Supervisor
  • Assist in communicating to commissary employees and enforcing all commissary policies, standards, and practices
  • Assist General Manager in completing and managing income and expense budgets, profit and loss, etc.
  • Assist General Manager in completing required corporate reporting documentation, both financial and operational
  • Manage company resources responsibly including, inventory control
  • Manage financial duties
  • Protect company assets
  • Communicate and model company standards and policies
  • Implement efficiently and effectively directives from commissary, corporate, and divisional management
  • Develop and maintain commissary organization to promote efficient operations
  • Interface with corporate office personnel

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience with sales, management, production, and customer service
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Pleasant disposition, sociable, accommodating nature, and enthusiasm
  • Self-motivation, creativity, and adaptability
  • Basic computer, telephone, and fax knowledge
  • Must be available for full time (40+ hours/wk)
  • Completion of Krispy Kreme sponsored training programs
  • Post Secondary Education strongly preferred
