About the position

The Production Manager leads and manages the Production department with a focus on the exceptional delivery of all programs, events, and meetings. They are dedicated to ensuring outstanding experiences for guests and presenters, as well as internal customer satisfaction, while meeting Kripalu business criteria. The Production Manager collaborates, supports, and empowers their team members, providing guidance and resources while also valuing their input and ideas. Ideal candidates will have a flexible schedule with availability on weekends, evenings, and holidays. In this role, the Production Manager will manage the execution of all programs, events, and meetings, strategizing and leading effective program production while providing superior service and professionalism for presenters and guests. They will lead, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and develop staff in the Production Department, which includes the Production Support Set Up Crew and Audio-Visual Staff. Continual evaluation of Production staff and processes is essential, with a focus on improving and evolving procedures to meet the needs of Kripalu, presenters, and guests. The Production Manager will partner with operational area leaders to maintain effective communication systems in the execution of all programs and events, including management of the BEO process within Production. They will strategize with the Director of Program Operations for room assignments to balance space needs and preferences with optimal support flow. Attendance at weekly BEO meetings is required, where they will communicate with all Programming and Operational departments regarding the implementation of the previous week's programs and events, highlighting successes, challenges, procedural changes, and recommendations. Additionally, the Production Manager will prepare and manage the annual Production department budget and specific capital or other project budgets for equipment and program room enhancement. They will also manage the department inventory, overseeing purchasing, maintenance, and replacement of all program room supplies and equipment, including A/V equipment, while forecasting supply and equipment needs for upcoming programs. The Production Manager will work with the Director of Program Operations to strategize the future vision of Kripalu Production, ensuring that the department is well aligned with Kripalu's mission and initiatives and meets industry standards. They will serve as part of Kripalu's Leadership Team and handle special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the execution of all programs, events, and meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years' experience as a manager or high-level supervisor.
  • Strong and positive leadership skills including the ability to work independently, delegate, train and lead others.
  • Demonstrated excellence in attention to detail, understanding of mission-driven programming needs, and leadership.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail; Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with hospitality property management systems and adaptability to learn new software and technologies.
  • Must have a driver's license and pass a background check.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends is essential, as is the flexibility to adjust schedule according to the needs of the events.
