About the position

The Production Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the production process in a sporting goods company. This position requires multitasking and the ability to motivate a team while managing multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have experience in apparel and/or footwear production, optimizing production procedures, and ensuring high-quality service delivery that meets customer standards in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and troubleshoot construction of apparel, footwear, and other similar production to determine cost-effective approaches for product reworks or repairs.
  • Monitor execution of production line performance against daily production goals and overall production plans.
  • Implement and maintain production procedures necessary to meet service deadlines and to achieve or exceed margin goals for projects.
  • Develop and oversee daily production schedules to assure timely delivery of services.
  • Supervise and evaluate performance of production team members.
  • Convene regular production meetings as needed for performance success and to ensure output meets quality standards.
  • Identify and schedule production equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain, uphold, and implement a safe work environment, ensuring all compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Work beyond normal production hours to ensure a smooth transition may be required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in apparel or footwear production.
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role within a production environment.
  • Knowledge of production planning, inventory management, and quality control principles.
  • Experience or familiarity with industrial sewing equipment, shoe repair/cobbler tools, presses, punches, and other similar industry repair equipment is a plus.
  • Experience in resource planning, ability to recognize workflow increases/decreases and managing resources appropriately.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to adapt to changes in business and needs of customers.
  • Computer literate with basic knowledge of word processing programs, spreadsheets, email platforms, and other communication tools.
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form with customers, operations, management, support staff, and vendors in a timely and professional manner.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English is a plus.
